Are they? How much for a 100mhz P5 system with three PCI slots that is
upgradable to a 4-CPU 150mhz P6 system by simply replacing a daughter card?
By the time you read this, the Apple 7500/100 will be available sans
monitor, with built in Video input, for about $2700 for an 8 meg system
with 500MB hard drive, or about $3000 for a 16MB system with a 1 gigabyte
hard drive.
I'm not aware of ANY currently shipping Pentium-based system that has an
upgrade path to 4 P6's, are you?
BTW, P6's can't run 16-bit software any faster than a Pentium can, so
home users aren't likely to adopt them until 32-bit apps AND OS's *AND*
the hardware needed to run them properly, become standard.
