The main thing that I see with the RW is as a marketing tool. All that is needed is for the titles of s/w to be sent and then a databases of replies to be set up. I would have thought it would then be relatively simple for selective mail shots to be sent to registered users.....eg user has Word Perfect...send shot on MS Office etc. It is happening already with supermarkets and their loyalty/bonus cards. These, over time, profile your use of the supermarkets departments/sections. There was a programme on TV here showing supermarkets in, I think, Arizona. With these cards they could find out which shoppers did NOT use the in store bakeries...therefore, they mailed special offers to them. A high percentage of those taking up the offers, still used the bakeries after the offer expired (about 30 per cent I think). So MS ain`t doing it purely, if at all, for your benefit.
