Doesn't it seem strange that a poor cs student's implementation a
"2 decade old" operating system has yielded something every bit as
powerful as the flagship product of one of the wealthiest corporations
in the world?
And speaking of copying, what do you think microsoft has been doing?
You essentially could have had win95 10 years ago if you had just
bought a mac - so why are all the trade rags in such an ecstatic
orgy over win95?

That's a bogus line of reasoning; you didn't think it through, did you?
The free dos utilities are nowhere near the quality of those available
in the UNIX world...
With Unix, you get X11R6, Sendmail, tcp/ip & xv.
With dos or windoze, you get a shareware label maker program...

Oh, but staying compatible with dos is OK, right?
Unix is the *least* constrainting environment known to man!

You've been out of touch then - 5 years ago, there was no such thing
as Linux, X11R6, fvwm, xfm, doom or netscape...
But you no doubt don't want to hear that, and are merely enjoying your
role as devil's advocate...

Win95? No, none for me, thanks - I'm already running Linux...
Microsoft is not the answer - Microsoft is the question; the answer is NO!
