The largest PC sellers are those which offer support and have prices close to or higher than Apple. (Of the top 5 PC vendors, only one is a "cheap" vendor-Packard Bell). Since Apple wants market share, why not target the 5 most successful companies rather than the cheapie cloners? 2. Therefore, the argument that Macs are more expensive than Wintel boxes is bogus. Macs are competitive with the premium name brand vendors they choose to compete against (who account for half the PC business). 3. Look at the PowerMac 6100. You can buy a 60 MHz for $1100 w/o monitor and a 66 with CD for $1400. Imagine IBM, Compaq, NEC, or Hewlet Packard offering a 75 MHz Pentium for these prices. > > --Now, Where I have a problem is more with the underlying philosophy of those who support the different OS's. That's not my experience. You're buying software in the wrong places. In almost every mail order catalog I've ever seen which offers both (i.e. PC Warehouse/Mac Warehouse), the Mac and PC software is comparable in price. -- Regards, Joe Ragosta -- 100% Chemical and proud of it.
