I know there is a way of suppressing the banner page by modifying a variable(?) in a particular file. Problem is I don't know which file it is. Any clues? -- Tarun Kripalani e-mail: tarun@psyclops.psyc.queensu.ca ____________________________________________________________________________

The variable to set is BANNER (=0). Be sure to stop/start the printer scheduler to make the change effective (/usr/lib/lpshut and /usr/lib/lpsched). The script comments explain the setting of either setting it for 1 to have banners print or setting it to 0 for turning banners off. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Miguel (Michael) J. Any clues? In the /usr/spool/lp/interface directory, edit your printer file (e.g. PostScript) and look about 50 lines down for the line "BANNER=1" and change that to "BANNER=0". ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stan Jensen, Systems Engineer stanj@corp.sgi.com Silicon Graphics Inc., M/S 14L-120 Phone:(415)390-5822 P.O.
