FIT Image Format Info?

Hello:

I have been using 'moviemaker' on series of .rgb images. The man page
mentions that moviemaker can operate on FIT images, but I have not
been able to find any information on this format. Moviemaker runs a
lot faster on FIT images, so I would like to create these directly.
Thanks a lot!
