I've got some refurbished 2932's here and they work fine, despite being 1'6"
high 4 gig units and therefore quite old technology-wise now.

You should *never* use the on-board termination unless the drive really is
the last one in the chain and you don't use an external terminator on the
back of the SCSI box/tower/whatever. There should only be two termination
sites on any SCSI bus - at the controller, and at the far end of the cable.

That's correct. You can always check the integrity of your SCSI setup before
booting by using the 'probe-scsi' and 'probe-scsi-all' commands which are
present in the bootROM. This will prove that each device is correctly
recognised and that each device is set up for the right ID.

2932's do not automatically spin up until there is some sort of data access.
I noticed this since a 'probe-scsi' reports back the drive data ok, but it
will not activate the spindle motor until there is some attempt to access
data on the drive (which in my case was when the kernel had loaded and it
went to mount partitions on the 2932).
If the 2932 is your boot drive, you will probably have to set it up to it
spins up immediately at power on. I think there is a jumper for that.

Sounds like another effect of the 2932 not spinning up until there is some
attempt at data access.
A good rule of thumb is that a boot drive should *always* spin up when power
is applied.
