I'm using a 3com ISDN modem with my Sparc LX. It's got a Magma serial card
in it so I can run the serial connection at 115200 bps. The on-board serial
ports just can't cope. I'd imagine the same is true for most lower-end
Ultra's that still have the legacy Z8530-based SCC core.
I cannot make the SunISDN software work with the on-board ISDN hardware and
Telstra OnRamp, which I why I dumped that approach and bought the 3com ISDN
modem. I just replaced my old analog modem with the ISDN one when the line
was changed over to ISDN, altered the phone number that pppd on my LX calls,
and it was working...
Regards,
Craig.
