Trying to use Expansion Box on SuperSport SX

I have a SuperSport 386SX Laptop. I am attempting to use an ZDS expansion
box model ZA-3040-EB. The cable is PN: ZA-180-91
When I plug it in (with or without the ThunderBoard
I'm trying to use) I get the following error when the system is turned on:

At top of screen:
+++ DISK ERROR: Bad disk controller! +++

At bottom of screen:
--- Errors found! Please press <Esc> to continue ---

After pressing <Esc> the system boots up as normal but I have no access to
COM1 or COM2. The 120M harddisk works fine as does the floppy drive. COM2
is an internal modem which I can dial but cannot send characters over any
longer. COM1 is normally a serial mouse and the driver fails to load.

I don't have the manual for the expansion box, since I bought it second hand.
Can someone please help??

-pete

Is there a jumper on the motherboard? of the Exp. box. If so, then this jumper
may need to be set so that the other two pins are connected. This will switch
the exp. box between the old and new configuration, depending on which Superspo
rt model you have it hooked to. If not, or if switching it does not fix it,
then you may want to try putting a tiny piece of celaphane tape over the bus
connector for IRQ6 on your adapter board. If you do not know which connector
is IRQ6, please repost and I will look it up.
