Dear
With respect to the problems of entities I found in WP7 (I read somewhere
in WP8 it should be easier)
the following solution:
Adapt your SGML-declarations with e.g. the following lines:
...
CHARSET
BASESET "ISO 646-1983//CHARSET International Reference Version
(IRV)//ESC 2/5 4/0"
DESCSET
0 9 UNUSED
9 2 9
11 2 UNUSED
13 1 13
14 18 UNUSED
32 95 32
127 1 UNUSED
<ADD THIS>
BASESET "Upper half of IBM code page 850 (Multilingual - Latin 1)"
DESCSET 128 128 128
</ADD THIS>
CAPACITY
PUBLIC "ISO 8879-1986//CAPACITY Reference//EN"
SCOPE
...
Then you have to declare somewhere this CHARSET-file in your map-file
e.g.:
-- ISO entity sets
...................................................... --
<ADD THIS>
PUBLIC "Upper half of IBM code page 850 (Multilingual - Latin 1)"
CHARSET CP850.SET
</ADD THIS>
PUBLIC "ISO 8879:1986//ENTITIES Diacritical Marks//EN"
ENTITIES isodia.ent
PUBLIC "ISO 8879:1986//ENTITIES Numeric and Special Graphic//EN"
ENTITIES isonum.ent
...
Then recompile your dtd and start an sgml-doc in WordPerfect. When you try
to insert
a special character you will see that the characters (....) have
become red.
Before you insert the character you have to check a small box below the
character set.
In dutch it says : "Invoegen als teken verwijzing" so I guess in English
it will be
something like : "Insert as character reference". Once you checked it,
click on insert save
your document as SGML.
There is an inconvenience however: open the sgml-document with an
ASCII-editor and you will
see it right away.
These and other explanation are written in the help instruction of the DTD
to LGC-converter,
so not in the help-files of WordPerfect where you might expect it.
I hope I 've been helpful so far. I will continue to look for other
solutions and when I
found them I will let you know.
With kind regards
J. Martens
