I haven't worked with WP5.1 and its Convert program (access from DOS
with WP NOT running) for years.

An approach might be to use Word's convert ability (I assume it has
this feature) to convert DOWN to a lower ver. of Word - one that is
recognizeable to WP5.1's Convert utility.

OR, convert Word to a format recognizeable by WP5.1 utility and go for
it.

Once found, this process might be made semi-automatic by creating a
macro. I once did this for a temp who had to redo her boss's Word docs
into WP5.0 format.

Hope this helps.
