I am having a problem using my modem in Windows 3.1. About 40% of the time when my modem hangs up, my system performs a cold reboot. I have checked quite carefully and there does no seem to be an interrupt conflict. The problem occurs only in enhanced mode, not standard mode. It happens both using Windows Terminal and Procomm Plus for Windows. Occasionally if I've used the modem during a session and my phone later rings, the system will reboot then also. Microsoft can not solve my problem. My modem is a generic Hayes compatible 2400 baud model, the company that made it no longer exists (I wonder why...). My system is a 386/33 Mhz using the AMI bios. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eric Mintz mintz@biology.ucsc.edu
