I have heard but not seen that you can use a faxmodem in a similar manner as
a scanner.  I am going to buy a modem soon, and wondered if a faxmodem is 
worthy of the extra $$$.     

Has anyone actually used a faxmodem in this manner.  Is the quality of the
scanned image useable?  Please, everyone give me your $0.02.  Thanks.
