I'm writing an application (in Visual Basic) that has a number of
options. I'd like the user to be able to create
a number of icons that he could launch, each of which will start the
app with a different option. To illustrate, imagine a calendar program.
I'd like the user to be able to have a "July" icon that would start
the program and display his appointments for July.

Forgive me if this question seems naive, I'm just getting started
with windows...

Thanks in advance.
