I need to find the dimensions of a raster font in device
units, before I have a window created. Thus, I cannot use the
normal font information functions, because I do not have a
device context available to me.
Is there some way I can get this information from Windows
in a legitimate fashion? The font(s) have been loaded via the
AddFontResource call and I've used the CreateFontIndirect calls
to create the handle(s) I need. Now, I want to find out how
wide and high (in pixels) the characters are (it's a fixed
pitch font) without having a device context available. Can
I somehow create an information context for the display device
and use that or are information contexts not to be used for
other than printers?
Any help would be appreciated. Please reply via email as
I don't get this newsfeed that reliably.
