The only way for a cursor to have a true 3D position is for the cursor to report three axes of positioning information. Basically, you're going to need a space ball, dial box, "bat", polhemus position sensor, or some other kind of technology that has at least three degrees of freedom. A device with 2 degrees of freedom (such as a mouse) can't report a true 3D position. -- Rich -- Repeal the personal income tax; vote Libertarian in 1992.
