Will "double-buffering" help? And how to do animation on a PEX-SI server with no "double-buffering" support? And how to do that on a Sun's server with d.b. support? Thanks in advance. -- = Qiang Alex Zhao Computer Science Department azhao@cs.arizona.edu University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721 (602) 621-1815 "gtetris" has nothing to do with GNU.

With the PEX-SI server you can do client traversal and use the multi-buffer extension to control the double buffering. Public fixes will be available in the not too distant future to provide double buffering in the server workstation object. Jay Hersh -- Hopfen und Malz, Gott erhalts

The PEX-SI server can render to pixmaps, so I suppose you could also pass a pixmap as your target drawable and then copy the pixmap to the window at the end of each frame. -- Karl Schultz schultz@vnet.ibm.com These statements or opinions are not necessarily those of IBM
