You are not wrong, but unfortunately SCC is unmoderated and people can
post whatever petitions they like in this newsgroup.

The Cornell newsgroup is removed from the Followup-To list.  BTW, your
newsheader is ill-configured to post this message in the non-existent
newsgroup "talk.p".
