ATTENTION AMIGA USERS AT CORNELL UNIVERSITY

Sorry about addressing such a specific crowd here, but I want to
make sure everyone from Cornell might see this. If you're not from Cornell,
you may very well be able to find my info useful if you've been trying
to use AmigaNOS with a dialup SLIP connection.

If you know about CIT's new SLIP server, you know you can get access to
the internet (telnet, FTP) and other campus-specific services from your
room over the modem.  Right now, CIT only supports MACs, will the move to
IBM's, but won't acknowledge the existence of Amigas.  Well, we're here,
and now we work!

Thanks to lots of people on the net, I've picked up various tidbits of info on
using AmigaNOS for SLIP, and along with some tinkering and tweaking I've
gotten NOS to work on the Annex SLIP server here at Cornell, so you can
telnet and FTP directly to your computer over the modem.  As well, one should
be able to access the various other campus-specific services (just the
facts, etc.) though I have yet to try them.

If you have an Amiga and are interested in both utilizing the SLIP system and
showing CIT we DO count and are CAPABLE, email me and I'll explain
how I've done it.

For those of you from other places, I know some of you have been posting
with questions about configuring NOS, I'll tell you what I've done,
and we can see if it'll work with your systems.  

I hope I'm not coming across as too arrogant here, I don't mean to be
like "I'm God, I can use SLIP. Come serve me little lambs," I'm
just excited that after a couple of frustrating weeks I've got this little
bugger of a system happily communicating.
