I would suggest trying the drive in Dos to see if you get the same results. You may also want to check all of your connections and make sure that everything is hooked up properly. In order to make a bootable floppy disk with IDE CD-ROM drivers: 1) Create a bootable floppy disk (format a:/s) 2) Download SBIDE121.EXE, and extract the files into their own directory (like C:\SBIDE). 3) Copy SBIDE.SYS from C:\SBIDE to the floppy disk. 4) Edit the config.sys on the floppy and add the following line: DEVICE=A:\SBIDE.SYS /P:170,15 /p:1F0,14 /D:MSCD001 /V 5) Copy MSCDEX.EXE from C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND to A: 6) Edit the autoexec.bat on the floppy and add the following line: A:\MSCDEX.EXE /D:MSCD001 /V 7) Start your computer using the boot floppy. -- Chris Gilbert Creative Labs Technical Support www.soundblaster.com Mike C <Bruticus@the-beach.net> wrote in message news:9g0d72$qtc$1@news.creativelabs.com... > I have a Creative 52X CD-Rom and it doesn't want to work, when I put in a CD > it just makes My Computer inaccessible for a few seconds then it ejects the > disk.
