Ok, here's the thing: I have Win2K, with a PCI 512, and I downloaded all 5 of the PCI 512 2K driver files, installed, and then went to play MW4. What I got was a stuttering in volume with the jump jets, and several other sound anomalies. Then I go into WinMe or 98SE, and after I get it all setup, I don't get a stuttery JJet sound, or any other crap, although some of the sounds are a little dull. Then I go into the EAX-enhanced UT, with 2K, Me and 98SE, and it's exactly the same as MW4 is. These sound anomalies are being caused by some shitty driver coding for Win2K, on the PCI 512, and I know why: You all want to pump the sales of the Live cards, so you make shitty drivers for the next card down the line, making me buy a more expensive Live card, just to get some reasonable driver support. Not to sit here and start a war on Creative, but I am NOT happy that I now have to run out and buy an X-Gamer, just because the 512's Win2K drivers are not worth a damn. You people need to one: Make a better tech support site, because your data is about 2 years out of date, I've seen your Troubleshooting Data-base, exactly like it exists now, back when I still had my AWE32! Two, you need to make it easier to reach an actual living person through your phone system, instead of asking the retard's questions on the TS site, we should be able to just slap 0 and get through. Three, you need to make some WORKING PCI 512 drivers for Win2K, because as they stand, right now, they do not work worth a damn, and before you ask, the same problems with MW4 and UT, also happend in Diablo 2. Here are my specs, before you try asking me that, as well: Tyan Trinity 400 (VIA Apollo Pro 133/A) Intel P3 800 E-B Coppermine 256MB PC-133 GeForce 2 Ultra (The CLA2U, but it's a reference card anyway) Sound Blaster PCI 512 Other hardware that has no effect what-so-ever I've used Win2K Pro, WinMe, and Win98 SE, only 9x has a reasonable driver, but even that is a littly glitchy at certain times 6.49 NVidia reference installed 4.28 VIA 4-IN-1's installed Latest PCI 512 drivers downloaded and installed off the soundblaster.com driver site If anyone has any other idea why this may be happening, exept for incredibly shitty EAX support on a PCI 512, please do tell. You know, I'm serously thinking a refund at this point in time, because for $15 more, I could have an X-Gamer, THAT WORKS. "Most affordable EAX solution", that it sure is! The cheapest piece of hardware you can buy. I should've stayed with my AWE32. Thanks Sean sw@source.net
