Normally, the original drivers supplied with your card work best (unlike
other manufacturers). Conflicts should be no issue.

Let's restart solving the problem in a different way. First of all, remove
all of the following devices in Device Manager: sound card, modem, network
card, graphics card. In the hidden folder "C:\WINDOWS\INF", remove all files
with extension ".INF". This will force Windows to re-detect all cards as
ifthey were installed for the first time.
Next, remove all cards in your system except graphics card and sound card.
Locate the sound card to be in the second-topmost (i.e. second from top)
slot; the topmost will remain reserved for the network card (assuming it's a
PCI card). To minimize choppiness of sound and interference, leave one slot
free between both cards (also for cooling).
Restart Windows and let it redetect both the sound and graphics cards;
install from the original CDs. What happens now? If Device Manager complains
that it cannot find any free IRQs for the legacy (DOS) sound device, this is
pretty normal - don't worry about it (in my system with a Sound Blaster
PCI64, I forced it to use custom settings later on).
If the previous steps succeeded, add the other cards one at a time (network
card topmost) and restart after each card you add. As soon as you re-install
the modem back and can connect again to the Internet, post the results you
get back here.
