Playcenter doesn't recognize CDROM drives

Hello. I have a Memorex 48X CDROM drive and an HP CD-Writer Plus 9300
Series. Both support digital extraction. After I install Playcenter, I go to
"Settings" so I can "Auto-configure" my CDROM drives. I put an audio CD (a
REAL audio CD from the store) in each of the drives and then push
"Auto-Configure". Unfortunately, Playcenter asks me to insert an audio CD.
This always happens. Therefore, I can't use it to encode/rip CDs.

I can't find anywhere where I can email Creative tech support, so I thought
I would try these groups. I appreciate your help if you know how to solve
this problem. Thanks!
