In case you didn't see my previous posts, I will recap my responses.

For mastering, especially if you are talking about CD mastering, I can highly
reccomend Red Roaster by Sek'D. Jim Rosebury at Studio Cat Software
(www.studiocat.com), is currently offering this product for a very good price.
Sound Forge will not allow you to do things like insert track markers, etc.

I use cakewalk and the current version, version 9, is rock solid. I am not a
cubase user, but I have heard some complain about its stability. (Again, I *am
not* a user. This is pure hearsay).
One thing which cubase used to have going for it was its low latency as compared
to CW, but since CW has established its so-called "wave-pipe" technology latency
has become a non-issue.

Santa Barbara Film and Audio tends to be very expensive. I don't know anything
about the stability of the Aardvark units. I do know that the new midiman units
(www.midiman.com) are very stable and come highly recommended by the pros who
participate in the Cakewalk Newsgroups (another excellent source for advice,
btw<g>). Again Jim Rosebury at studiocat has good prices, free shipping, and
good advice. And no, I don't work for him, but I have done business with him
and find him to be knowledgable, professional, and helpful. Plus he's a working
engineer and producer and not simply a salesperson. He knows what he's talking
about.

Again, check out the Cakewalk Newsgroups!
