Okay, I know I'm starting a war here, but I would like to hear people's opinions on my question. I have a Packard Bell 1510, 120 MHz, 16 Mb, and 1.2 Gb Hard drive. (You can quit laughing now. The price was right!) Currently I have about 1Gb of programs that I want to keep, and I need about 40 Mb for cache, leaving 160 Mb free for other stuff. At this time I can not afford more memory or a larger hard drive. Now my question. I am considering installing another OS and making my machine dual-booting. I have disks for Windows NT4.0, RedHat Linux 5.0 and Caldera OpenLinux Lite 1.2. I am not afraid of a text based system, but windows support would be nice. Which OS would be best? Ease of installation, and fairly easy to use are important as is network connectivity. (I am on the CSUNET, not dial-up). As a CoSci student I feel it is necessary to learn as much as possible about other OS and how they work, so this experiment is purely for my educational frustration. Comments welcome.
