Though it's totally unlike me to be an NT advocate, if we're being realistic it will be at least a few more years before we can kill M$ completely, and as a CS student, you'll be getting plenty of UNIX experience in class, so, keeping in mind the goal of getting experience with different OS's, I'd have to vote for NT, though, as Dwyer pointed out, you'd better have patience to run it with 16mb ram. (Phew, let me send /that/ one to my english prof. ;) What kind of memory does you comp take? If it's old enough to take SIMMs instead of DIMMs, you could probably put some more in there for $30-$40. Check out Hayse computers on Shields & Elizabeth or Discount Used Computers in Denver. Or just post on csu.general and offer to trade a Guinness for some used stuff! -- Adam Carheden carheden@holly.ColoState.EDU
