About CPSR
CPSR is a public-interest alliance of computer scientists and others
interested
in the impact of computer technology on society. As technical experts,
CPSR
members provide the public and policy makers with realistic assessments
of
the power, promise, and limitations of computer technology. As concerned
citizens, we direct public attention to critical choices concerning the
applications of computing and how those choices affect society.
See http://www.cpsr.org/dox/home.html for more information about CPSR.

And today, when the threat of a massive missile attack from our enemies has lessened but the threat of -one- missile launch against us is at an all-time high, we find ourselves without the ability to shoot down even -one- ICBM. Thanks a lot, guys. Jack Rudd

Of course, I seriously doubt we would have had the ability to reliably shoot down evem -one- ICBM even if we HAD spent gazillion$$$ to build the ill-conceived SDI system. Especially if the threat came via cruise missile instead of ICBM. Which is much more likely, in my opinion. Gary
