The C/Fortran/Pascal stuff is all on the Genera 8.3 CD. The layered
products CD has no C stuff; it has stuff like Concordia, Joshua,
Statice, Kee, DNA....

It also occured to me to look. An APROPOS shows that there's a |bzero|
in the X-FONT-LIBRARY package, but an inspection of that symbol as
well as the X-SERVER:|bzero| shows that they both are completely
unbound.

Yes. I think it's time that I, like, be _productive_.... At least I
know I'm not alone with this bzero stuff. I got no emails from anyone
saying that they had gotten the thing to work in the past. I suspect
it may have only been tested to work with the Genera release it was
initially included with. I guess everyone uses the client but few have
need for the server....

I loaded the C Documentation system off of the CD (I had to do Compile
System to make this work; there were weird messages about it being
compiled for another architecture, but I digress...). It has pretty
good instructions covering the whole C development paradigm on Genera
and how to use Zmacs to interactively compile and load C functions,
but I believe the Zmacs C Mode is provided in the C Packages package
which I have the dummy package for....

I'm gonna give up on this for now. Maybe in two weeks to a month I'll
read all the stuff I need to compile and load C code and I'll try
using generic definitions for bzero and whatever else is missing. If I
have luck getting the thing to work I'll share the procedure here.

I've had the machine a week; it's time for me to relax and enjoy some
Lisp programming before Summer classes begin and I get to write my
linked lists for the umpteenth time and all the other joys of C and
C++....
