Can anyone tell me anything about the expected Y2K status of Genera
    8.3??

As far as we have been able to determine Genera 8.3 does not have a problem
with the change to the new millenium. But the clock chips used in both
36xx and Ivory hardware cannot hold a date later than 12/31/1999, after the
machine is turned off. The net effect is that when the machine is turned
on again, it will ask you to set the date and time.

We are investigating replacement clock chips for Ivory hardware and would
check on replacement chips for 36xx hardware, if there is any demand out
there.
