A distribution world is being booted. I run the DEFINE SITE command. The full accept-values is display after entering a host name. None of the values is changed (I take all the defaults) then end. The stack trace contains: string-length 3 is not a string parse-integer 3 :junk-allowed t cl-neti:create-site ... Looking at the sources on the machine (are they current? dunno) it doesn't appear that this error could occur as the call to parse-integer is protected by a (if (stringp minor) ... ) I'm also working off 8.1 docs. I presume the setup process hasn't changed greatly in 8.3 Thanks in advance, Greg -----Original Message----- From: reti@wilson.ai.mit.edu <reti@wilson.ai.mit.edu> To: greg@adrenalinegroup.com <greg@adrenalinegroup.com>; slug@ai.sri.com <slug@ai.sri.com> Date: Monday, May 17, 1999 8:48 AM Subject: Old newbie question ... > Date: Sun, 16 May 1999 12:26 EDT > From: "Greg DuPertuis" <greg@adrenalinegroup.com> > > Ok, after many years without touching a Symbolics, I've acquired > a 3620 with a 8.3 distribution load which I'm unable to get setup. > Each attempt to "define site" fails with a call to string-length with > an integer arg (not a string).
