A distribution world is being booted. I run the DEFINE SITE command.
The full accept-values is display after entering a host name. None of
the values is changed (I take all the defaults) then end. The stack trace
contains:
It doesn't seem to make sense to take the defaults, if you are defining a new
site, i.e. you'll have to fill in new values.
string-length 3 is not a string
parse-integer 3 :junk-allowed t
cl-neti:create-site
...
There is only one call to parse-integer in create-site, and that is only called
if (stringp integer), yet the data you show and the error you report indicate that
a number was passed in.
You should send a complete backtrace (c-M in the debugger); it prints not only the
names of the functions, but the PCs and the arguments as well.
You might also try enabing condition tracing; if error catching and resignalling
is involved this will get you closer to the point of the original error.
Looking at the sources on the machine (are they current? dunno)
it doesn't appear that this error could occur as the call to parse-integer
is protected by a (if (stringp minor) ... )
I'm also working off 8.1 docs. I presume the setup process hasn't
changed greatly in 8.3
The 8.3 docs should be available with the software, either on-line or
on the CD-ROM.
Thanks in advance,
Greg
