I would prefer it that way.

I don't know whether this is possible with Genera and/or
the MacIvory, but on some machines it is possible
to configure more than one IP address for an
Interface and these IP addresses don't even
have to be on the same network - so you could
route on a machine between different networks on
one cable - whether this really works or is an
interesting combination depends on the situation.
