Often I'll want to start some time-intensive non-interactive task in a listener and then switch to Zmacs while the task runs in the listener, but the task in the listener usually stops running and waits until I switch back to it before resuming. I've played with using :Set Process Priority to remedy this but haven't been successful. If I set the process priority of the listener to something really high then it takes a little bit of time for the Select: task to run and get me to another activity but once I'm in that activity then the listener just waits until I switch back to it to run again. Is there a way to make it more like running something in a Unix xterm, where it keeps going pretty much no matter what else you do? Thanks, Christopher
