NFS password avoidance

Hello all,
I'm trying to connect a Symbolics 3650 to a PC compatible via ethernet and
I'm having a problem with the '50 thinking that it needs to provide a
password to gain access to the PC server when it doesn't require one. I
recall asking about this a few years back and someone replied with a fix,
but I don't have record of what the fix was.

The Details
- 3650 under 8.1.1 Genera (which includes NFS)
- PC running SOSS (Son of Stan's Own Server), NFS server side software

The connection is functioning, since the PC can ping the Symbolics, and
the PC shows up in both Server and File System "Peeks" on the Symbolics
side(including the entry points exported from the PC). When SOSS is set to
verbose mode it shows the attempts by the Symbolics to gain access. But when
I try to access to the PC from the Symbolics FSEdit, it always come back
with the error message "Access Denied" due to password something or other. I
can't find any facility to set up a password on the PC side.
I will of course continue to hack, but I'm hoping that someone is familiar
with whatever fix was reported to me a few years back that allowed the
Symbolics side to forget about the password part. Any help is much appreciated!

Scott
