How many Washington DC area commuters were delayed because of the
Trucker's protest ride? None - according to the news reports I saw.
They had enough sense to make their point without blocking traffic.

In contrast, the 1996 (or 95?) Janitor's protest made a mess of DC rush
hour traffic by blocking some of the bridges leading into the city.
That boneheaded tactic cost the Janitor's any sympathy they may have
had. As a result of their protest, a bill was introduced to raise the
fine for blockading a bridge to $5,000.
