Hey, If we are including Texas in the discussion, down the street from where
I used to live in Austin, on Guadalupe, there is a place called Rudy's.
Cajun spiced barbeque beef ribs. I can't remember if that is the exact
name on the menu. Yummy. It is right near Martin Bro's Cafe, a vegetarian
place that serves fish and chicken.

A great place for chili is The Texas Chili Parlour somewhere in Downtown
Austin. (for great spageti, Spagetti Warehouse. (sp))

There is a great sushi place in Austin also, Azuma's. They have just moved,
so I cannot give the location.

I loved the Mushroom Stroganof (sp) at Mother's in Austin, which is a
vegetarian restaurant that serves no meat. The smoothies here are yucky,
the smoothies at Martin Bro's are wonderful. Good salads. I love spinach
things.

Baby Alcopocas (sp) on Barton Springs Rd I think, has pretty decent
fajitas.

Back to DC, For my 21st birthday Sunday, my Bill and Anne, my siblings-in-
law, took me to Red Hot and Blue. (I had a margirita.) I ordered the two
person serving of wet pork ribs and split them with Matt. His side tasted
fine, my side was burnt a little and I had to scrape the bitter part off
with my hands and then lick the bbq sauce off. Afterwards, we went to Ben and
Jerry's in Old Town Alexandria, where I ordered ginger-snap icecream and
chilled cookie-dough balls dipped in dark chocolate. Wonderful.

Another place in DC that I love is The Dancing Crab. Bill Sr. took us all
out when we first moved here. There is an old bookstore close by in a house.
I am sorry I cannot remember the street.

I havn't visited any of the sushi places yet, but I've saved all the
suggestions to a file. Once place I did have sushi last year, within walking
distance to the university, in the building that has the Gyros place and
the small chinise restaurant (it is on the side adjacent to this side) -
it was awful, and I did not finish it. Perhaps the chef was not in because
I ordered them late. the order did did not taste good, and was put together
sloppily.

(any occurance of "university" usually means University of Maryland, College
Park.)

Please forgive any ennui I have induced.
