I believe you are referring to the "Bavarian Inn" in Shepardstown, West
Virginia.  It was indeed a find place to eat (and nothing like enjoying 
some Jaeger Schnitzel and dumplings while overlooking the Shenandoah
Valley).  Only snag was that they couldn't serve beer and wine before
1 or 2 pm on Sundays (old WV blue laws at work).

The last time I was there (probably '87 or '88) the proprietor had added
some lodges (at an exorbitant nightly rate) and the establishment was
well on its way to becoming one of those too-successful, too-expensive
yuppie resort hangouts.  I could, of course, be wrong on all of this,
but knowing the DC area, my insticts are usually right on the money.

Anyone have more recent experiences at the Bavarian Inn?
