There is a pretty nice place called Roasters on the Hill in the Eastern Market area. It is off Pennsylvania at the 6? 7? Street intersection (towards the Market) and they roast their own coffee. Prices are reasonable (7-9$ per pound), they have a variety of flavors and also some other coffee paraphernalia. They also run a coffee club and have special promotions. The staff are friendly and helpful (at least during the morning hours when I have been there). It is also an Espresso bar, but it is is a little cramped.
