It was tasty, although a bit chewy, and the sauce was pleasant enough - more a western NC style, a bit vinegary and not too sweet. Noticing that they advertised chili, we carried out a quart - mistake!! What we got was mostly sauce-flavored cooked ground beef[?], lots of large chunks of onion and green pepper, and with some red beans scattered here and there. Not at all my (or I'll wager any Texan's) idea of chili. I looked up their web site and chastised them for advertising this stuff as chili. After a week or ten days I got an email return from one of their staff saying how much they appreciated my comments, sorry I didn't like the chili but she really loved it, and if I sent my postal address they would send me a certificate good for a side of my choice next time. About a week later I got a $10 gift certificate from them in the mail. I think I'll try the ribs next time, but they'll have to go a long ways to beat (1) Houston's or (2) Sweetwater Tavern's. So, in summary, YMMV but I don't think they are up to the competition. -- skin that tater before replying
