What's your point? Oh, its just that people in the .com domain like to use foul language. It is a fact I pulled out of my ass. You should try it sometime. Perhaps you already have? > >It is such a shame too, since they are paying so > >little for the priviledge to use things like the usenet, which was created > >by people with .edu addresses. > > Sorry Bright Boy, no cigar. This was taken from http://www.vrx.net/usenet/essays/Amateur_Computerist_fall_1992.html It was initiated in 1979 by Tom Truscott and James Ellis, graduate students at Duke University, and Steve Bellovin, a graduate student at the neighboring University of North Carolina. According to accounts of the early days that have been circulated on the Net (as UsenetNews is sometimes called), Truscott and Ellis thought of hooking remote computers together, using homebrew autodial 300 baud modems connected to telephones. They envisioned creating a poorman's ARPANET. There is more, but I assume you have already stopped reading this. Read the rest of the article from the web page. We don't need to waste bandwidth now do we? No where does it mention a fat lifestyle or the use of taxpayer money. Believe it or not, most students are struggling. I must admit though, taxpayers have allowed my father to live an enjoyable, fat lifestyle. He isn't even an American either. What a country we live in! Yes, being a taxpayer is one of those unavoidable things. Being a sour old man, well, we can do better, can't we? > Grow up, son. And learn to spell, for chrissakes. Yes Sir! Being able to spell = Intelligence! But if we are really making demands here, admit you know not what you are talking about, and leave the discussion.
