Hey all... relatively new poster to this group... I've been hearing about the new improvements to the "mixing bowl" interchange which will, apparently, be the most complex in Virginia history. Recently, the construction estimates that it should be finished in about six years. In this time, traffic will be snarled for quite a while with lane closures, new traffic patterns, and detours. Yikes! As I am relatively new to the area (moved from Chapel Hill, NC to Arlington), I'm wondering if anyone has some DETAILED info about what the interchange will look like upon completion. What configuration will these "Express" and "Local" lanes take? How will the HOV lanes work? Will there be a full interchange with VA 7900 (Franconia-Springfield Pkwy)? Whether it be maps, a detailed description, a web site, a short poem about it, anything would be helpful. Any takers? Thanks in advance... -- Mike mike.scheinberg@iname.remove-this.com (you know what to do...)
