I agree with you totally about public transport Brian, but I'd not agree
that gas costs too much. Try driving in England... gas costs about 3
times the cost in the US.

Maybe if the price of gas was increased people wouldn't go out and buy
those 4 by 4 s which have big ebgines. You don't need a car with a 4
litre engine, it's wasteful. My father in England has never had a car
over 2 litres and he still can go flying round the motorways at 90 mph
quite happily.

I looked at the fuel efficiency rating of a Jeep Grand Cherokee once, 14
mpg in the city and about 18 on the open road, this is dreadful. We had
a VW that did 36 mpg. Costs a lot less in gas and is far more efficient.
