North-south routes are odd numbered (e.g. I-5, I-57, I-97) from
west to east. Long routes end in 5.
East-west routes are even numbered (e.g. I-4, I-80, I-96) from south
to north. Long routes end in 0.
The three digit highways start with an odd number if it is a spur,
an even number if it is a loop or bypass. The last two digits indicate
its associated main interstate (e.g. I-495 is a beltway that has a junction
with I-95. I-380 is a spur off of I-80). These numbers may repeat from
state
to state.
