Correct, it's not.  However, it is also not a random sample.  It's a
self-selected sample, and it seems heavily biased towards those people
who want to blame somebody else.  How many postings have you seen in
which people accept responsibility for an accident?  I don't recall any
in the last few weeks.  But we have seen repeated examples of people
blaming somebody else.

As a general statement this is probably true.  But in any specific case
it always pays to stop saying "it was unavoidable" and instead ask "what
else could I have done".  Unfortunately the majority of people posting
here DON'T want to ask the latter question and simply insist on the
former assertion.
