I agree with your assertion that the District of Columbia should not be
annexed to Maryland; however, I vehemently disagree with the "logic" that
you used to reach that conclusion.

The current President of the United States acknowledges that he used
marijuana while in college.   Governor George W. Bush, Jr., leading
presidential candidate, has consistently dodged questions about his reputed
cocaine use.  America's favorite Congressman from Massachusetts has a
lengthy history of alcoholism and womanizing.

Few reasonable people have suggested that the individuals who voted for
these men are morons.   In fact, a number of well-known political analysts
have praised the American populace for electing the aforementioned in spite
of their foibles.

When discussing Marion Barry, however, many question the judgement (at best)
or the intellect (at worst) of DC voters.   Is it possible that residents of
the District of Columbia re-elected Mr. Barry to public office, because they
recognized that he was an effective politician who made a woeful
mistake?   It's not only possible; it's what happened!

Other than the debacle that you mentioned, I challenge you to highlight one
other fact about Mr. Barry's tenure as Mayor.  You accuse Mr. Barry of being
a whore.
Please provide us with one example of Mr. Barry prostituting the office of
the Mayor for his own personal gain, as that is the definition of a
political whore.

We have countless examples of whorish behavior on the part of our current
President and the leading presidential candidate.  Did the President not
allow numerous CEOs to stay in the Lincoln Bedroom?  How much do you think
that those CEOs contributed to the DNC for that kind of access?  Is that not
whorish behavior on the part of our Commander in Chief?   Did members of the
NRA not state that they would have unprecedented access to the White House
if George W. Bush becomes the next president of the United States?   Is
that not prostituting the office of the President?   Do you have any idea
how much money the NRA contributed to Mr. Bush's campaign?

Are you as outraged at the people who voted for these men as you are at DC
voters?
