How did the media miss this?

I was talking with some of the Army and Marine ceremonial guards that
marched in yesterday's Inaugural parade - and I was aghast at some of the
stories I heard.
Some members of the Army's Old Guard were pelted with apples and
oranges - no really big deal, but they were also hit with eggs! I mean
jeez-o-pete, these guys are serving their country, providing a service that
is absolutely non-partisan, and they have to buy their own uniforms, and
what do some of these people do that are dissatisfied with the outcome of
the election? They abuse their freedom of speech and cause innocent
soldiers a lot of money in cleaning bills, perhaps even forcing them to buy
new uniforms. The immaturity of these 'citizens' is astounding.
If they aimed at the soldiers, shame on them. They really chose the
wrong targets.
If, on the other hand, they weren't aiming at the soldiers and actually
at the President, they need to work on their aim. If this was war, the media
would have been all over that story and reported about the baby killers and
so on.
A US Marine was also hit by a bag full of urine. What in the Hades was
that jerk thinking of? That was a pi**-poor excuse for a political
statement. Isn't urine full of uric acid? So, therefore, did they mean to
throw acid at a Marine? First to hit the beach, first to defend the nation,
most likely to sacrifice their life for the nation (and the nation's right
to free speech) are the Marines.
I feel sorry for the media, they can't report everything. According to
today's Washington Post, the Inaugural parade was almost incident free.
Not according to the soldiers and marine providing ceremonial guard duty
in support of this nation's change of command.
