As a followup to the enclosed post, I am currently trying to hook up a
Linux system to Digex with a fulltime dialin IP. The deal is $1200 up
front (breaks down to $100/month) for a dedicated dialin IP. The cost of
domain registration is around $50. You also get a shell account for
system adminstration using their regular dialin service numbers.

Where am I in the Process.

I've ordered the service and we are currently waiting for the domain
name. Meanwhile I am adding USR 28.8 modems to the system (one for Digex
connection and the other for dialin from home) this will mean using 4
comm ports (See setserial). The platform is a 486dx 66, 16 MB memory, 1
GB SCSI drive, SCSI CD-ROM. The system will be a combo of a WWW
server, email, and ftp server for a small data conversion business. I'll
post a lessons learned, if there is any interest.
