Yes. Syqyest's EZ-135 is an alternative. I understand it is faster, and of the course, the capacity is nominal 35% more than the zip drive. On the other hand, the Zip is small enough for me to use with my laptop (I use it for /usr/X11R6, /usr/man, /usr/doc, and /usr/local stuff). The media is floppy-disk-like, and I've never (yet) lost data after dropping a disk. Syquest's is (I think) Winchester hard-disk-based media, so a fall could cost you the disk and the data on it. BTW, I just saw an (obviously early?) ad in one of the mail-order catalogs (Insight's?) for Iomega's Jazz drive - 500 MB-1 Gig on a removable (Winchester) platter. Price was about $600 for the drive, availability will probably be like the Zip drive's - it'll be "unobtanium" for a while. BTW-2: I was at MicroCenter in Vienna yesterday. Plenty of PC-format Zip disk 3-packs on hand, price was $45-$50 range. Steve Greene sgreene@access.digex.net
