Hi All,

I recently set up a Linux/x system on my standalone pc at home. Everything has 
worked well except for DIP. I cannot get it past a message "Unknown server 
error." I want to use DIP to dial in to my provider using TIA (The Internet 
Adaptor.) I have been posting to the other newsgroups and have received lots 
of help but nothing has worked. I should add that while I earn part of my 
living with pc's, I am very new to Linux/Unix.

I installed the IDECD2 kernal with the SLIP/PPP/ and TCP/IP packages. However, 
I am not sure that I have support for those options in the kernel I chose. I 
do see lines when I boot re:  SLIP/PPP/ and TCP/IP. Does this mean that I 
have support in my kernel? The description of the disk(Q?) in the Slackware 
distribution does not mention this support.

I have been working on this for over a week and feel pretty lost. I have read 
all of the man's,FAQ's, web pages and postings but I still cannot get DIP to 
execute.I would really like to get some Xclients up and surfing. I would 
appreciate any help. Since I live in DC perhaps we could arrange speak over 
the phone when I could be at my computer.
