Well, I tried installing linux (slackware 2.2 - 4 CD set from INfoMagic) three times in the past two hours, and yet "Kernet panic" was what I got every time I rebooted the system. Each and every installation was a success ( I can print, I can play doom) until I issue 'shutdown' Linux did reboot, but its "kernel panic" and the whole system hung in the air. Hard reboot was the only soultion I can think of, and I 've got to reinstall everything from the scratch again!!! What I don't understand is that how come I can reboot the system successfully at the very first time (right after linux installation), and not the second time. TIA for any clue/help/comment! -- pwin1@umbc8.umbc.edu phyowin@cpcug.org http://umbc8.umbc.edu/~pwin1
